Kushida arrived at WWE in 2019, signing for the company the day before WrestleMania 35. Three years later, soon after WrestleMania 38, a Japanese wrestler left it and is expected to return to Japan.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer point out that Kushida’s contract with WWE ended and that he didn’t want new ones, so his adventure in the United States ended.
During those three years, the Japanese have only been in the NXT, and despite dominating the NXT Cruiserweight Championship in his resume, his work at WWE was not the success that many Japanese fighter fans had hoped for.
As for the future of the 38-year-old fighter’s career, Dave Meltzer points out that he will return to the NJPW and that this return is likely to take place in the Dominion on June 12th.
Do you think Kushida could have been better used in WWE?
