The government is investigating another suspected human rabies in MG

The government of Minas Gerais confirmed on Friday that it is investigating another possible case of human rabies in Bertópolis, 638 km from Belo Horizonte, in the Vale do Mucur region. This is the second record under investigation. Two other 12-year-olds already have a positive diagnosis of the disease – one of them has died.

According to the SES-MG (Minas Gerais State Department of Health), the new patient under study is a sister of a teenager who has been hospitalized with a diagnosis of rabies. “This is an 11-year-old female patient who had non-specific symptoms such as fever and headache,” the folder said in a statement.

The government also stressed that it classified the clinical picture as suspicious because of the relationship between the two. “The patient stays in the clinical bed, stable and under observation,” he said.
