Espírito Santo strengthens measles vaccination campaign

Holy Spirit – The state of Espírito Santo is expanding vaccination campaigns against measles. The first phase of vaccination is May 2 for health care workers and Day 3 for children. April 30 is a day of mobilization of awareness and vaccinations.

The calendar follows by age groups and healthcare professionals. Healthcare workers will be vaccinated until May 2. From 3 May, children from 6 months to 5 years old are allowed. It is expected that 365 thousand Espírito Santo will be vaccinated.

The campaign was launched shortly after the state recorded five suspected cases of measles in 2022, and none confirmed. In 2021, there were 41 suspected cases of the disease.

According to the National Vaccination Program Information System (SIPNI), coverage in the state is below the ideal target. In 2021, Triple Viral coverage was 72.62%, compared to the ideal set by the Department of Health at 95%.

Influenza vaccinations and Covid-19

In addition to the measles vaccine, the project also involves other ongoing campaigns, such as the Covid and Influenza Vaccine. It is possible for children to request doses of measles and flu. For healthcare professionals, the flu and covid-19 vaccine may be offered together.
