More than 53 million Brazilians have high blood pressure

Today is National Day for the Prevention and Control of Hypertension. According to the latest Vigitel Brasil 2020 study by the Ministry of Health, 25.2% of Brazilian adults report high blood pressure, representing more than 53 million people.

“An increase in blood pressure, if left undiagnosed and treated, damages target organs called the heart, brain and kidneys and affects their function,” warns cardiologist Rubens Zenóbio of Darwich São Vicente Curitiba Hospital.
