The Environmental Monitoring Coordinator visited 4-7. April, 5,008 properties in the municipality, and the risk index for building infection in Petrópolis was less than 1%, which the Ministry of Health considered low. This is the second rapid study of Aedes aegypti infection rates (LIRAa) in 2022.

Statistics from the Ministry of Health show that in January-April 2021, three cases of dengue fever were diagnosed in the city, compared to only one at the same time this year.

According to Health Minister Marcus Curvello, the guideline is for the population to implement the 10 Minutes Against Dengue campaign by identifying and removing mosquito breeding grounds from their homes. The next stages of LIRA will take place on June 20-23 and October 3-6. The measure makes it possible to determine the degree of infection of a mosquito that spreads Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya.
