Fortaleza City Hall, through the Ministry of Municipal Education (SME) and the Regional 6 Center for Health Education and Social Mobilization, promoted action this Friday (April 29) to combat the Aedes Aegypti mosquito in Lagoa. Redonda district.
Organized by Fernanda Maria de Alencar Colares, a professor at a municipal school, the initiative aims to raise public awareness of the prevention and control of breeding sites for mosquitoes that transmit dengue, zyka and chikunguya. During the event, students, parents and teachers walked the streets of the neighborhood, handed out brochures and passed on relevant information about the diseases and their spreaders through an audio car.
The activities carried out by the school unit are part of an action plan to be developed to obtain the seal of the Escola Amiga da Saúde: Todos contra o Aedes. It aims to encourage the participation of children, young people, teachers and civil society. mobilization, awareness and prevention of mosquito-borne mosquitoes. The activity also encourages the main character of the students, appreciates the content worked in the classroom and strengthens integration into the community in general.
Region 6 Secretary Túlio Studart congratulated the initiative and stressed the importance of controlling the Aedes Aegypti mosquito. “In order for the government to fight mosquitoes, the involvement of the entire community is essential. Everyone must work together,” he said.
