Warzone Season 3 created record-breaking spikes in the UK

Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 became available on April 27, and interest in the new content was so great that companies recorded new records of Internet activity as players downloaded the news.

Starting at 5:00 p.m. on April 27, Activision released new content, and the number of players downloading their games to update and start playing made Virgin Media the busiest day of the year and the second busiest day ever.

VGC reports that a Virgin Media customer downloaded an average of 12.1GB of data between 4pm and midnight, up 29% from the same time last week.

The busiest time was, as expected, between 8 pm and 10 pm, when the increase in data flow was 11.9% normal and 23.8% above the previous week’s level.

Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 has arrived full of new content, and it looks like players haven’t been able to sign up for Activision’s free game for consoles and PCs.
