Cascavel confirms third dengue death and 243 other cases – Jornal O Paraná

Cascavel – A municipal dengue fever was confirmed in the city yesterday afternoon (11). An 88-year-old woman with other illnesses died on April 24th. In addition to him, two other deaths, the first of which was an 87-year-old man and a 95-year-old woman, had already been confirmed. A further 243 cases were confirmed yesterday, now a total of 2,855 confirmed cases, and a further 5,978 cases are awaiting test results.

The increase in cases of dengue fever in the Cascavel region, which is already in epidemic, has continued since the beginning of March, as has the state of Paraná, where the risk of infection remains high. According to the release, Coqueiral still has the highest number of cases, with 314 confirmed cases, followed by Cascavel Velho with 292 and Santa Cruz with 156.

In order to meet the demand for patients seeking health services, the municipal health agency confirms that the course of treatment has been changed and six health units take care of patients suffering from the symptoms of the disease from 6 pm to 10 pm. These are the units of the districts of President, Cancell, Colmeia, Floresta, Nova Cidade and Santa Cruz. In these same units, daytime treatment is normal for all pathologies.

In addition, Tio Zaca’s Family Health Unit will serve exclusively from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will become an extension of the Tancredo Neves UPA, serving only patients with dengue symptoms. The trend is that symptoms suggestive of dengue fever are not sought in first aid, but in health units that are open for this purpose. Symptoms of the disease include headache, pain in the back of the eyes, fever, spots on the body, you should seek these units for medical attention.
