Araraquara surpassed 7,000 cases of dengue fever this Thursday (12), according to an update by the Epidemiological Surveillance.

According to figures released by Surveillance this Thursday, there were 7,022 confirmed cases of dengue fever in 2022. There were 150 cases in January, 702 in February, 3,994 in March, 2,087 in April and 89 in May. Ten deaths from dengue fever were recorded in Araraquara this year.


Symptoms of dengue include fever, body aches, headache, pain behind the eyes, and spots on the body. When applying for treatment, the patient must bring an ID card, SUS card and proof of address with a postcode.

The Dengue Treatment Center is open daily at the field hospital, including weekends and public holidays from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. And all municipal health units also serve dengue suspect cases, places are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and UPAs 24 hours a day.

It should be added that Vila Xavier UPA, which has been exclusively treating influenza since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, has already resumed treatment for other diseases, including dengue fever.
