BALL – Four teams complain of exclusion from European competitions (Russia)

CSKA Moscow, the Zenit of St. Petersburg, Dinamo Moscow and Sochi have appealed to the Sports Arbitration Court (TAS) to withdraw from European competitions as a result of sanctions imposed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

“We report that our club and three others – Zenit, Dinamo and Sochi – have appealed to the Lausanne Arbitration Court (CAS) against UEFA’s decision of 2 May 2022 to exclude Russian clubs from the European Union. All clubs requested an urgent review of the complaint. We hope “CSKA strives to play in European competitions and fights for the top spots in the championship until the end of the season.
