Dispute. Eurovision songs involved in sexual harassment scandal
Assistants say they were “soured” at the party and they remember a night of horrific harassment.
The Eurovision Song Contest is controversial after several volunteer aides claimed to have been “soured” at a pro-competition party.
Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera reported that several volunteers who attended the party condemned several periods of harassment at night, which they remember as frightening.
“I was with another girl and a bunch of foreign dancers started watching us. They started dancing with us and we were slammed,” the woman told the Italian newspaper.
Last Sunday’s celebration at Turin’s Venaria Palace featured artists, singers, dancers and VIP guests from more than 40 countries.
The Eurovision organization denies the allegations after the news, but feminist organizations in Italy are calling for a police investigation.
