Itupeva continues to fight Aedes aegypti

The municipality of Itupeva, through the Zoonoses Control Unit (UVZ), will continue to take a number of measures to control Aedes aegypt – a mosquito that spreads Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika viruses. This Saturday (14th) the districts of Santa Isabel and Rio das Pedras will be sprayed with biological larvae.

“We work hard to keep the mosquito from spreading. So the population needs to be aware and eliminate potential sources of stagnant water. It is necessary to double the treatment, especially at this time of year, ”said UVZ coordinator Gilmara Breda.

“To maintain control of this vector, we often take these actions in the suburbs with the highest reported cases of the disease, in addition to housing surveys conducted by local health professionals,” the UVZ coordinator added.

The areas that have already been sprayed were: Parque das Hortênsias, Vila Independência, Santa Julia, Vale das Pedras, Nova Itupeva and Quilombo.

The Zoonosis Surveillance Unit (UVZ) will also give educational lectures on Dengue Month in schools in the Municipal Education Network during June. The first school to receive a lecture is ‘EMEFEI José Leme do Prado Filho, 13 June.
