What is it and how does it work?

THE Google Wallet was unveiled yesterday (11th) during the Google I / O 2022 demo with a proposal to improve the way you store your personal documents, debit cards, and more. In the middle of the digital age, Google’s new system works as a wallet where you can store everything you need, but virtually. In this article, we will explain how it works and how it can help you.

What is Google Wallet?

As the name suggests, Google Wallet is nothing more than a wallet. Do you know the wallet you carry in your backpack or the back pocket of your pants and use money, CPF, RG, public transport card, credit cards, driver’s license, vaccination card and so on? With Google Wallet you don’t have to worry about checking your wallet before coming to the restaurant to see if you have your credit card with you. The app collects all your cards and allows you to make a payment in approximately the same way as you would with Google Pay.

In this way, Google Wallet replaces Google Pay, by combining more functions, being able to combine data student number, driving license, identity, vaccination, loyalty card and even Disney passport. The app will also be available Wear OSGoogle’s new operating system for smart watches.

How does Google Wallet work?

First of all, it is worth noting that Google Wallet is a very useful resource and can help you avoid being forgotten. For example, you can save your own boarding pass on the trip in the app, and it notifies you of delays and port changes. When you go to a show, you can attach your ticket in the app and it reminds you of the day, time and even the route to the place as it is integrated Google Maps.

The possibilities are endless. The company said it is committed to working with various companies in the market, from transportation agencies, resellers, ticket providers, health agencies and airlines, to create digital versions of their cards or tickets for Google Wallet.
